The .txt file thing sounds interesting, but I'd still need to access it in the local Kindle filesystem, which can't be accessed anymore.
Using Calibre or something to convert the (1000-page) website to mobi format is certainly doable. I'm just concerned about how inconvenient it'll be to have to convert it anew for each file that gets added, as the folder o' html files I used to browse on the K2 is a local copy of an ongoing site.
But on the other hand I'd still have to add the new files to the Kindle if I were able to view it using the browser like before, so I suppose it's not a huge tradeoff. It's just unfortunate that existing (and useful) K2 functionality was stripped out from the K3.
Edit: It seems the Kindle Bug App Browser is a book that holds access to a number of web pages in the cache, which while useful doesn't allow me to freely navigate a 1000-page website offline. Nice, but not targeted at what I'm trying to do at this point.
