When I got there, I had to wait for the manager as the store was swamped. To be expected this time of year. When she was finally able to get to me, she said they couldn't take the Palm as a trade in since it is a phone. I explained that it is not a phone but a PDA that has ebook software on it and was my last ebook reader before purchasing my first 505. She looked in the system and said there was no category for a Palm Pilot (like those are still being made) and she couldn't do it. I proceeded to show her this thread on my phone. She still said that they could only take dedicated ereaders on the trade in. This is when I got a bit loud and asked if she was telling me that I drove all that way for them to say no, when it is obviously that the company had already said yes to others. She took the device with her to go talk to her general manager. She came back out and said that the Palm was not one of the devices they are allowed to take but the general manager was letting them do it any way.

So, 45 minutes later, I walked out with my new black 650.

This is not me complaining but letting people know you may have some trouble in store if you are taking something other than a Reader, Nook, or Kindle.
Good story.

What was the in-store price on the 650? Was it still $229 or the lower $199?
