It's not as silly as it sounds. Our (EU) copyright act gives me the right to resell software, without having to ask the original licensor for permission. It also gives me the right to "decompile" software and modify it for compatibility purposes.

Does that mean I am allowed to remove DRM to be able to do so? Probably yes, but it's not been tested in court yet.
