Sure you can read on the NC, but you can do the same on an android phone, or a Nintendo DS. Doesn't make them the best devices for "serious readers," which the customer asked about. Back in the day, I used to work for a big chain bookstore and you're right, they have no loyalty for their employees. I mean, this is a minimum wage job. But also, no job sector really has loyalty towards their drones anyway. I'm a nurse now, and its the same thing at the hospital, except we have a union, and I make considerably more than minimum wage.

I don't disagree that the NC is more toylike than the classic Nook, meaning that it has more bells and whistles that would appeal to a wider base of people. Heck, I call my iPad a very expensive toy all the time.
