They've come a long way from the original report. I think they should remove the category "Does the device have limited compatibility with books not purchased from an associated eBook store?" because this has little to do with privacy.

I don't disagree and a lot of people find this valuable. My belief is that it should be an opt in service though and they only gather the data if the owner specifically agrees to it. They should not feel entitled to gather the data without clear consent and it shouldn't be a condition of buying the product.
