It reminded me of British The Apprentice with Alan Sugar.
There was a candidate that everybody thought about as a very nice guy. Really pleasant to deal with. Sir Alan Sugar said something akin to:
Joe, you are a very nice guy. You made it to the final 5 (you are very talented). Everybody seem to like you. In my opinion, you are a very nice guy.
Unfortunately, there is no position in my corporation for a Mr. Nice Guy. I need a stronger character (shameless, indecent, brazen)

Or what some women say to some men
You are a very nice and kind guy, let's stay friends (for a partner in my bed I need someone a bit more wild, I need the spark...that is absent in you )
