Apple Device CALIBRE Error

Calibre 0.7.34 and iTunes 10.1.1.4 Installed on Windows 7 PC. Although Caliber shows my device as connected at the bottom of the interface, when I click the "Send to Device Icon" at the top, I get an error message saying "Cannot send: No device is connected". This started happening a few versions of Caliber ago, and the error persists with every new version to date. I prefer sending magazines to iBooks on my device, and not to Stanza, which I use for Books and which works just fine. How do I fix this? Thanks?
