..I think what Naerymdan is saying here is that having installed adb (part of rooting) the default, at boot, is to start adb. That means that often adb is on when we don't need it. Naerymdan changes the init so that adb is not started at boot and is only run when requested through WIFI locker. I made the change and it helped my battery life.
..I sometimes find I need to powercycle my nook after side loading books to get them to show up in nookdev library. The powercycle is a reboot and turns adb on unless you have applied Naerymdan's idea.
