Fuel injection replaced carburetors in most vehicles, email is in the process of replacing paper mail, digital cameras have almost completely replaced film based cameras, cell phone cameras are in the process of replacing small point and shoot digital cameras...

I just recently got my Kindle, but I am sure I will use it to completely replace books for the reading itself, but I will keep the books I have just to have them.
I almost never give my books away. And I never sell them. Space be damned! (My shelves are ridiculously overflowing, however. I have them doubled up with books -they are quite deep - and I still have a hallway full of piled up books on the floor. I really should do something about that... maybe when I have kids! For now, there is still the guest room left to be filled up with books )
