well the nook color sound perfect for you, it's wireless through wi fi though, wi fi are really cheap nowadays and really easy to install.

I think you can get wi fi router for around $25 nowawdays. Might I suggest you go to best buy and get a nook color and wifif the same time, if that ends up being an option for you.

Otherwise that really is your best option for your needs you stated.

just got to work on the wifi router and the nook color will fit the bill.

Also coming out this year will be cookbooks with video's for the nook color, My wife is very excited about that.
