If it turns out that reset is working for switching it on, and there is no requirement to switch the device off or on with the on/off button in the middle of firmware update, then there is no urgency. As I can get to the list of 10 last read books by a single click another way

(update to 2.0.3 beta did not require on/off switch to be used, but update to 2.0.3 final is supposedly different and more complicated)
Yes, it is, but doesn't involve on/off switch
