I was hoping one of the maintenance guys were around with a dolly but no such luck. I decided to use my shopping buggy risking that the weight on top of it might collapse the thing.

I brought the buggy down to the van with my kids and there were 2 men standing outside the door talking. Now, I'm 5'2" and about 100lbs, usually less. My van is right across from the front door of the building. It took me a good 5 minutes to get the box on top of the cart with the help of my wonderful, strong, 7 year old boy. Then we had to get the thing across the driveway and up 2 steps. OMG that thing was HEAVY! All the while these 2 strong looking men (holding their hockey equipment, so I know there was nothing wrong with them) just stood there watching me struggle to get this thing inside. Didn't even offer to open the door for me.

This morning I woke up and took a breath, and thought I was going to die! I pulled a muscle in my back so bad that I could cry right now. It's swollen right down the side of my back.

So I ask: What happened to chivalry? How can you stand there and watch a tiny woman struggle for almost 10 minutes and not offer any help? Why?

And no, I did not ask. I have issues with asking people for help. I hate asking anybody for anything so I avoid it as much as possible.
That's terrible - sorry about your back, I think you're supposed to do ice the first day then heat after that. No chivalry is not dead and you shouldn't have to ask!! It sounds like a couple of losers that had no common decency. I'm all for equal rights and women's lib and everything but I'll ask anyone (male or female) if they need help and if some is obviously having trouble I'll just step in and help anyway.
