Does the book show in "I'm Reading" on the kobobooks.com website? If not, then go into your purchased list, click in the box next to the title, and then choose "bookmark" at the top of your list. That should move the book into "I'm Reading" and it will then respond when you update your library.
I have heard that there are occasional locked content issues that are not related to Adobe DRM, but I have not experienced one (yet). I'm assuming you did reauthorize your device after the update/reset. The MR Wiki has instructions for that, if you need them.
