emonti8384, I am sorry that you are having problems. Here are some suggestions.

First, did you try purchasing a Sony book just to make sure something isn't messed up in your Sony software? You could go to the category Bargain-Priced and pick a free book for your test. Then you know that Sony works.

Second, do you have Adobe Digital Editions installed? If so, did you try to right-click on the acsm file and select Open With > Adobe Digital Editions. If that works, then you know it might be the Sony software. If that does not work, then you know there is something else going on.

Third, did you call Kobo Customer Support or even Sony Customer Support? Maybe they have seen this error before?

Lastly, this suggestion might seem odd but if you think it is a Kobo Store problem, then maybe you could post a question in the Kobo forum. Perhaps someone on that board is more likely to have seen a similar error message before?
