I looked around a bit to find out if this was the case for sure but didn't find out anything. I did see that it take an SD card so maybe you need to have that in it to save downloaded books.
In the meantime, I'm still trying to decide about a Kindle for my teenager. I think a NOOKcolor would be way cooler for his age but they are just way too expensive.
