I haven't noticed the wallpaper thing (yet). Actually, I haven't changed to a different wallpaper. Perhaps the change will show up then.

Yes, use Astro to uninstall. Just click on the soft menu button within the app. Select "Tools", then "Application Manager / Backup". Select the file to uninstall. Sometimes the double tap doesn't work and you have to "check it" then within the soft menu select "Uninstall".
