If installing APK files from an SD card is allowed, than even if you get no access to the full Android market, you can install any app as an APK file from the SD card.
If you have an Android phone you can create an APK file from any app that is installed on your phone. You can also find APK files on the internet.
Are you saying that a stock NOOKcolor allows installation of apps that are on a storage card?
