I think there was less than one week of my life, back when my first cat died (had dogs before that, living in my parents house), that I was animal-less. I was miserable and the house was SO EMPTY. I went and adopted two kittens as soon as I could. Having animals enables me to talk to myself without thinking I'm completely insane!
