Sony 650 is an awesome device, but I suggest to check your favorite books on several online bookstores, so you can get a better pictures and enlarge your pool of options.

You said you are a retired person and looking for something easy for your eyes, so based on that comment please discard: iPAD, Nook color, or any LCD screen. Like you, I work with computers the whole day and I suffer eye strain, so when reading for pleasure or at home, I want something easy for my eyes like a Nook, Kindle or even Sony.

I don't own a Sony but I've played a bit on several electronic stores close to home. I like that you can make annotations and it's touch screen, but still no wifi and for that price, I think it's unacceptable (my opinion here)

My suggestion: please check your favorites books on several online bookstores so you can expand or narrow your pool of options. Besides Sony, your options are Nook 1st generation or Kindle 3; the former is shipped internationally and I can say the screen is really crisp and good your eyes.
