PRS-650 Hangs When Syncing
After buying/downloading 5 books from the Sony E-Store today, the reader wouldn't sync; it just hung.
I called Tech Support, and after trying a few of the things I'd already tried, he deleted all the books from my Library. That didn't help, either, and then we discovered that my computer had become deauthorized: "Sorry, we are not able to activate your device, you have reached the maximum number of allowed activations. Error Code (2023)" For one reader and 3 computers? At that point, the call was disconnected, not sure if it was accidental or deliberate. I called back, and was told that Adobe had to be contacted and I would be called in 20 min. An hour later, I called again and was told that Adobe was experiencing "high call volume" and that they really, really would call me back. After three hours I called again, only to discover that Tech Support was now closed.
In the meantime, I downloaded all books to another computer, and loaded the books 1 or 2 at a time back onto the reader. I had nearly completed this (less than 100 books) and it hung again when trying to sync.
I thought it was time to try Calibre. Downloaded it, added my books, then connected the reader (after closing Reader Library). I don't think Calibre is seeing the reader, since there is no Send to Device button in my Calibre window.
Any suggestions? This is NOT how I wanted to spend my Saturday!!
