It is true that B&N epubs lock you into their device just as much as Amazon does. The difference for me is that I can still buy (or borrow from the library) from other stores as long as they have ADE DRM.
The point is that we all have different needs or personal likes and dislikes. Not one reader will be right for every person. It is like why some choose a Blackberry or HTC over an iPhone, it varies depending on their personal needs and tastes. There really is no point for anybody to be so pushy or passionate about their choice. I love my Nook and would recommend one to anybody, but it might not be the right choice for some.
