The sony 300 is a good solid reader with no glare issues. It is a discontinued model so should be available for a better price. There are lots of used ones on the market also.
The new model sonys (350/650/950) have the improved new pearl screens and no glare issues. The software is also updated and faster. The price on these models has moved down a bit, helping a little with affordability. They are very nice readers!
