I called Amazon to report my Kindle lost/stolen and was told that the Kindle registered to my account has the name "Barry" (not sure about the spelling). At first, I was confused because my Kindle's name was different, and then realized that whoever has the Kindle now must have renamed it and then used the Internet, and the Amazon server was updated with the new name.
