"Threshold" (the book that's listed for $40 on Amazon) is not the sequel to "Emergence." It's the first volume of an unrelated series that was never taken any further. The sequel to "Emergence," is called "Tracking," and was serialized in Analog Magazine in the July-August, September, and October 2008 issues. As far as I know it's never been released in any other form.
