Looking at my 300's user manual I see:
1) go to the settings menu
2) go to the advanced settings menu
3) choose 'Format Internal Memory'
4) when prompted, push the bookmark button to confirm

You should check your manual in case Sony has changed anything, or in case yours is in a different language from English.
