Question Hello from Kindle newbie!

Hello, all - I just got a Kindle 3 for Hanukkah, and I'm super-excited about it! I'd been vascillating about it since the Kindle 2 came out, since I don't purchase most of my books anyway, but prefer to use my public library instead.

When I researched it online, it seemed that there were plenty of tools out there to allow me to read them on my Kindle, and after years of business (and occasional pleasure) travel when I've had to bring multiple books and magazines with me, it seemed that this would be the perfect solution. The only problem I'm having is that the couple of books I've downloaded from my public library so far are DRM'ed, so I've been unable to convert them (I've used Adobe Digital Editions, as directed/downloaded from the library to open the book, then Calibre to attempt to convert to mobi.)

I keep seeing scraps of information indicating I should be able to make this work, but not before the rest of the thread is removed or some other wierd reason. I'm not planning on sharing the books with anyone else, and intend to return them when they're due (I even saw a post on another site that indicated there was a way to leave the DRM in place but enter my PID so the return date information would stay intact), so I don't feel that I'm doing something horrible. I did use a little app to get my PID, but I don't know where to enter it.

Can someone help? It would be super-appreciated!!
