Howdy from sunny Golden, CO

Hi, all! I'm Andrew Burt, living in mostly sunny Golden, CO. (Coors beer, right.)

By way of intro, basically I love doing new things, so, well, let's see... I started the first Internet service provider back in the day (which wasn't so much a thought of doing that as, hey, it would be cool to let the public onto the Internet, here's this machine we have that was just donated [I was a computer science prof. at the time], let's get some modems donated and start a free service so people can get on the net; I was also worried that the big players of the day, like what we called "Compu$erve" because of how much they charged, would do it and make it expensive, so I figured I'd show it could be inexpensive, even free / small donation funded).

I later started the first writers' workshop on the web. (Again, one of those, hey, there isn't one, and it sounds cool, so let's start it. Also a free, donation funded non-profit.) It's still going, just celebrated our 15th anniversary. Critters.org is the first name but I later grabbed Critique.org , which now houses 16 workshops in all (covering every genre of writing and even non-writing genres like music, art, photography, web site design, apps, video).

I'm a science fiction author [self-promotional link deleted - MODERATOR] has a list of ebooks), been VP of the SF writers' organization (SFWA), and a general lover of digital books. Been reading digitally for eons now. Been predicting digital books would overtake paper by 2015-2025, though these days I'm thinking it might be sooner. (Did some curve fitting analysis on that on my blog for those interested.)

So I'll stop rambling, that's sort of me in a nutshell.

Oh, hey, one question: How does one establish a signature for posting? I didn't see "signature" in the user control panel. Am I blind? Been known to happen. I've been pasting in but that seems awkward. Thanks for any tips.
