‘Cos it’s cold out there, and the snow lies deep
‘Ware the ice on the ground, take care not to slip,
Whilst icicles lengthen as by day they do weep.
Catch the hares as they race, dash and leap,
Trying hard to not fly in a backward flip
‘Cos it’s cold out there, and the snow lies deep.
Icy stalagmites grow as the stalactites seep,
When the snow on the roofs starts to melt and to drip,
Whilst icicles lengthen as by day they do weep.
Watch the wind pick a moment to sweep
Up the snow, so carefully dug, and back it does tip
‘Cos it’s cold out there, and the snow lies deep.
Beneath a white blanket all the little ones sleep
Enjoying the shelter with a welcome kip,
Whilst icicles lengthen as by day they do weep.
Feel sorry for the sheep, as they cannot weep,
Only a thickened coat against an icy nip.
It’s cold out there, and the snow lies deep
Whilst icicles lengthen as by day they do weep.
