I always used to read my Sony in its case, because even when I put it down I know I'm inherently clumsy enough I could bang into it, so something between me and the screen always seemed a good idea. Also, the Sony was a lot slippier than the Kindle, which is something I like about the Kindle - it doesn't feel like it's going to scoot out of your hand.

So, yeah, it's very likely indeed given past experience that I would keep the Kindle in its cover. It does that thing of making you feel like you're reading a regular book, somehow.
