Accessing Home MP3s via WiFi?

I'm really curious as I'm converting my music to MP3s..

It's really easy to convert all your CDs, and you can store a lot with a 300gig drive. There are even network drives popping up that allow access to the files without turning on your PC.

So what about listening to all that content?
* For home stereo, WiFi media players seem fairly expensive and require a music server to be running on a PC.
* For home PDA WiFi access, you still need a music server, I think.
* For remote internet access to your music, do you need to do the whole "remote control of your pc" thing, or is there an easier (and secure) way to do it?
