Quotes About Books and Reading

Since I first stumbled onto a Bartlett's book of quotations at my local library as a kid, I've collected quotes. My calendars and book journals are usually engraved with quotes to further the hobby. As I was looking around for next year's calendar and book journals, I thought I'd toss it out to the community.

So, what quotes about reading or books do you love? Where did you come by the quote? I'll start with one of my own and await the responses.

Quote:
One must be an inventor to read well. There is then creative reading as well as creative writing.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
