The Nook Color is the first dedicated device I've considered buying (I read ebooks on a smartphone), exclusively because of its ability to deliver magazine content in an attractive, easy-to-use way. I like the display of the latest Kindle, nice and clear, good contrast... but the color display of the NC is great, and color magazines look and read wonderfully on its screen.

If you want a device that will be open to more content than just ebooks and a few newspapers, I'd go with the NC.

Excellent review, too! I see you can view docs in nested folders on the SD card... that'll make it easy to collect sets of magazines and organize them as you like (I was planning to break them down according to title and year).
