When Wowio first started up, I joined as a beta user. All the books were free to download, all pdf format. Great program! However, when they dropped the beta label they started charging for the books, at least to download. You could still read them online for free. There were a few free to download that were 'sponsored.' I'll go take a look and see how it is now...i haven't been there for months. I'll get back to ya...
