If you've handled the nook and like it, go with it.

I did the same, several times, and didn't like it so that was that. But if you're comfortable with it, as many, many people are, and you want epub so you can check out books from the library, why not?

I have both Kindle and Kobo (for epub) and like both, so it's hardly a matter of there being only one correct choice for a person.
