My meaning was 'Sweet' vs 'Savory.' There actually are dozens of different types of sweet mochi. In this case it was Mochi (gummy rice 'product' with the texture of soft taffy )flavored with sugar and green tea wrapped around sweet red bean paste,
and mochi wrapped around bean paste and a strawberry. I love these! 
Savory mochi is usually served hot as a breakfast food with a topping of soy sauce or miso, and mochi is also included in 'stews' and soups. Neither of those particularly float my boat. It's sort of like eating a Dacron pillow with flavor on top.
