I think it will take a long time for robots to even come close to the skill of human musicians. Look at how clumsy even walking looks from a top-of-the-line robot these days...imagine what happens if you try to do all the fast, precise and multi-directional movements needed to play the violin...
I could imagine a robot playing the piano in the near future, but not the violin...at least not very well...
