Not entirely true...I
didn't ask the doctor about it; he mentioned it first. Apparently he was expecting more of a difference than he was letting on because for weeks everyone kept telling me that it wouldn't be a night-and-day difference.
Equally unnerving was hearing
real cicadas instead of the ones my ears were generating (the ringing in my ears has alternately sounded like cicadas, birds, and/or a pipe organ), also crickets and frogs which had been absent from my hearing and went unnoticed for I'm-afraid-to-know-how-long.
At first, before they were adjusted I actually heard
too well and couldn't use them around the house; unfortunately in search of a balance I still can't, mainly because of our dueling keyboards. Can't take them to rock concerts either.
