With this service, YOU choose what you will eat, not them. So far, every ingredient has been top shelf. The eggs are free-range, no blemishes on the veggies, the meat and fish smell fresh as can be, tomatoes firm and ripe, etc. It's just really weird to open the box and see half a carrot, one scallion, etc.

There are two or three Japanese foods that I don't like, and several ingredients I normally wouldn't purchase myself for inclusion into a meal. But being able to make the choice myself BEFORE ordering avoids that problem. My only real complaint so far is that every meal is Japanese. But I suppose that's to be expected with a Japanese food service, right? I am learning a lot about the basics of Japanese cooking which I never bothered to learn before. It's always good to know the foundations of an ethnic cuisine if one likes to cook.
