Interesting but not sure I want to read my books via the Kindle web browser - depends how good the overall experience is. And unless the books are cheaper than Amazon, then also not sure where my incentive would be to use the Google service when I'm very happy with the Kindle store.

It does point out that books can be downloaded for offline reading but no format is specified.

Competition is healthy I guess Will certainly check it out.
