No need to edit your first post. Everyone has responded to what it says, so after three pages, I think you should leave it alone.
No need to apologize about saying bad things about an inanimate object. It really doesn't matter. The thing I reacted to was the things that just weren't factually true.
But, anyway, try the thing with wiping the entire thing, and then add things in blocks. If I had something that did that constantly, I'd be annoyed as hell. This way, by adding things a little at a time, you will either find the culprit(s), or you will find that it's the hardware that is at fault. The latter is a bummer, but the first is most likely solvable.
