A frustrated hello to all
I am new to this e-books thing. Looking for a novel I went to wiki and found out it had been made available freely, with a link to this site and the e-book in question. I downloaded it and noticed it had an lrf extension which I had never heard of.
I have subsequently spent 20 mins on the web looking for a free lrf reader assuming that was an option.
It would seem now though, that I have to buy an e-reader or try and find a converter that will convert an lrf file to a pdf or rtf or txt file so i can read it on my PC.
The problem is niche interests like this, is it can get very incestuous and therefore stay small. Someone finding out about e-books for the first time is going to be turned off by the difficulty of not being able to immediately read it with a reader. It shouldn't be such a secret that you have to hunt for how to access this lrf file!
Needless to say, I am not half as keen on this e-book thing now as I was 30 minutes ago. If you want to see e-books expand you might want to think about the experience of people who are coming to this for the first time and know absolutely nothing!
