Finally epub vs mobi. From what I know epub is superior, and more easily accessible; however, at the same time, the Kindle store is just super easy and supports the most amount of books.

Perhaps a tablet (iPad, Galaxy, etc.) would better suit your needs? You wouldn't have to worry about proprietary formats.
