hi. I've just signed up here because i have gone through several pages, and can't find anyone with the same problem as me.

I have the original kobo, running v1.0 firmware. it's been a while since i have used it. i was on kobo books today, and bought a book. I installed the kobo desktop app, and syncd to my account. i plugged in my kobo and tried to sync.

i get the message:

"We're sorry but your ereader is not compatible with this version of the desktop application (v 1.7.5).

Please contact customer care for assistance"

is there any way to upgrade the firmware outside of the desktop app? v 1.7.5 never prompted me that i needed to upgrade the firmware"

any download links would really be appreciated!
