Hello Everyone
First post on first day here at Mobile Read. Since I just ordered my first ereader today figured it was a good time to join an ereader group. My name is Steven and screen name is xroads. That is pronounced crossroads. I am a recently retired long haul trucker. Crossroads has been my CB handle for at least the last 20 years.
The reader I ordered today is the called Augen "The Book." Any comments on this reader would be appreciated. I've long been an active reader (you can find me on Good Reads) and audio book listener so it feels pretty natural to join the ranks of ereaders. Although the decision of which reader to purchase has been difficult. I've been actively looking for almost a year now. Made a decision a few hundred times and then changed my mind. Even today as I had my mind made up I waffled several times before hitting the purchase button.
I chose the Augen because it was a fair priced compromise between a dedicated Kindle style reader and a low end Ipad device. A color screen, the ability to to access the internet, top rated ereader capabilities, mp3 and video players were a must for me. So it is basically a portable entertainment center. At $105 and free shipping it felt like a deal. I'll let you know in about a week how it turned out.
