My current favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch is a little non-chain restaurant near my sister's house that has an inexpensive buffet frequented by the local Hispanic population, and by me.

They have a few things on the buffet that you don't see at the chain restaurants, like these (see pic). It's Mexican rice pudding (arroz con leche) and some interesting jello things. They are really grabbed up when they are put on the bar, so of course I always grab them too. I'm always up for a food adventure. (That bottom jello looks as if it is meat-flavored, doesn't it? It kind of had the texture of vienna sausage.

Tasted good, though.)
