The NC is about to get rooted. You could use the Wi-Fi Nook for reading and have the NC as a tablet/reader (should be able to switch between stock Android UI and B&N UI from what I've heard).
However, if you think you can handle reading strictly from LCD, then by all means return the Wi-Fi Nook. As I said before, you could still root it while likely keeping reader functionality.
