Unhappy Japanese on Nook?

I've been trying to get my nook to read Japanese off an epub and for whatever reason it hasn't been working.

What I have done so far:

I found the css code that supposedly is able to access the DroidFont here: http://nookdevs.com/Font_Changes

I first tried copy-pasting that into the stylesheet.css file using Calibre. It didn't work (Characters are still borked) so I then did some more hunting online and found the epub-tweaker program on here and did the same thing. Still no good.

I read then that the file needs to be encoded in EUC instead of Shift-JIS or anything otherwise so I went ahead and did that using MS Word. Then I created the epub using Calibre and edited it again with that. Still no go. So I changed the .txt file to .htm and tried again. Still no good. Then I used the epub-tweaker program and it still doesn't work.

So here I am. Help please

Oh, by the way, my nook is running software version 1.5.0, don't know if that changed anything.
