Read on the Kindle since I acquired it earlier this year:
- Time-limited freebie promos from the major outlets: 20 full-length books, 6 stories/novellas/shorts, 5 novels unfinished at at least the 40% mark.
- Public domain freebies: 3 novels.
- Baen Free Library, Tor.com freebies: 3 previously unread, 11 re-reads from paper versions.
- Public Library e-book collection: 11 completed books, 2 partially finished.
- Kobo paid purchases: 3 completed, 2 partial.
- Fictionwise paid purchases: 10 books, 4 short stories.
- Amazon paid purchases: 1 partially completed.
This makes for a total of 61 completed full-length books, 8 completed novellas/short stories, and 11 partially-read books which I may or may not continue.
My total cost for the books I actually paid for out of the ones I've read or gotten pretty far into reading is: $51.23, which divided by 66 (counting each partial-complete book as a half with the novellas/shorts tossed in for good measure), nets me an average cost of 78 cents per read.
If we exclude the stuff I've already read in paper copies and re-acquired as e-book versions as well as unfinished/shorts, then the total is 47 at $42.96, thus 91¢ per.
My average read-
and-paid-for cost is $2.68. Thank you, Fictionwise and Kobo, for your excellent discount coupons and good MultiFormat genre selections/lack of Agency no-discounting-allowed pricing for Canadians.
