I watched the video, and it does look backlit to me. If I didn't already have a Libre I'd be highly tempted to get it, even with no wifi.

As far as DRM, I emailed Aluratek because the "Adobe Digital Editions DRM" verbiage isn't on the product page as it is for their other readers.

EDIT: response from email received - it does support DRM epubs and pdfs.
