Never cared about any of it except
maybe the HDMI cable until last night. My brother-in-law works for Moto and swears by Google Nav. He then proceeded to give me BS shortcut directions from their house to the interstate; problem is while I may be the one who lives out where the buses don't run (literally and figuratively), they live where none of the streets run north-south or east-west (literally but not figuratively), so that after 20 minutes even my truck's compass wasn't helping. I finally stopped and after cursing everyone but my wife and Ozzie Guillen I fired up Google Nav. It works a treat, as Am might say. However, it's a bit of a challenge to drive a 4WD while holding a Droid X and following the map. Anyway, I got us back on the right route and informed Shel, "I am SO getting the dash mount."
I suppose one reason I was mad about it was that my sense of direction is usually pretty impressive but the in-truck compass says only 'N', 'NE', 'SW' etc. and it was dark out so I got all turned around. On the other hand, if you haven't used Google Nav I highly recommend at least trying it out before you find yourself in a situation where you actually need it (where we were last night was bereft of any place to stop for directions). It does voice nav and turn-by-turn but I leave the voice nav off since it's somewhat slow to respond from what I understand (and I wouldn't hear it in my truck anyway).
